Crystal Clear : A Guide to Cleansing Your Crystals
To get the most out of your crystals you should clean and charge them on a regular basis. You will feel when it is time, if not maybe next full moon will remind you.
We recommend a cleaning of your crystals when you get them home to be able to set your own intentions with your new crystals. Here follows some tips on how you can do it.
Crystal cleansing using incense
Cleansing of your crystals with incense is a good option as it is a method that all crystals can tolerate. You can use incense sticks, White Sage, Palo Santo or Cedarwood.
How to do:
Light your incense, blow out the flame by waving your hand at it to put the flame out. Wave the incense around your crystals until you feel that the crystals have been cleant. Incense also works super well to clean the energy in your home!
Crystal cleansing using other crystals
Did you know that you can clean crystals with other crystals!?
But there are only some crystals that have a cleansing energy that can be used to clean other crystals; Selenite and Rock Crystal are two of those examples.
How to do:
Place your crystals that you want to have cleaned, next to one of the crystals with cleansing energy. Poff! Your crystals are being cleansed and ready to be used for new intentions and magic.
Crystal cleansing using moonlit or moonlight
We know that the moon has great powers, for instance: Have you given it a thought that the moon makes all the world’s oceans move (high and low tide)!?
The new moon represents a fresh start, while the full moon represents letting go and completion.
How to do:
Place your crystals in the moonlight, especially during the full moon when the energy is at its strongest. You can place your crystals on the windowsill, in a bowl on your balcony or outdoors in your garden over night.
Crystal cleansing using water
Water is the most pure and desired thing on earth that none of us can live without! A grownup man even consists of 60% of water! It is also said that water neutralizes negative energies, specially saltwater.
How to do:
You can clean your crystals by rinsing them under running water (but be mindful as water is a precious source which we should not waste). Keep in mind that some crystals should not be cleansed in water as this can damage the crystal.
Saltwater is also a good option but make sure your crystal can take it. If you are near the ocean you can collect some fresh saltwater and use that.
